Professional broadcast equipment increasingly holds data-bearing storage media, from solid state drives and hard disks in playout servers and editing systems, to embedded memory in audio consoles, routers, and networked broadcast devices. When this equipment reaches the end of its life, or gets passed on for resale, that data needs to be securely and properly handled. It's not just best practice, it's a legal requirement.

Our data handling process
Every item of equipment that arrives with us is assessed for data-bearing storage media as part of our initial intake process. We log and track all identified devices, then process them through a secure pathway, kept entirely separate from our general refurbishment and recycling operations, so we maintain a clear chain of custody at every stage.
We offer two methods, depending on the device and your requirements:
Secure Wiping
For devices suitable for reuse, we securely wipe all stored data, overwriting it so it cannot be recovered. We provide written confirmation of secure erasure for every device we process.
Physical Destruction
For devices not suitable for wiping, or where you need the highest level of assurance, we physically destroy the storage media, rendering the device and its contents permanently unusable. We provide written confirmation of physical destruction for every device we destroy.
